Good Neighbors mission Statement Founders Council
GOOD NEIGHBORS MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of Good Neighbors is to help families and individuals in times of crisis and need with clothing, emergency food and support.
Good Neighbors has been helping families and individuals in the community since 1957. Laura McClure and Frances Watson started collecting clothing in their basements to help those in need. One of the first persons helped was a five year old girl who needed a winter coat. Good Neighbors has grown from the basements of two caring women to the first organized unit in North Hill to fourteen centers. Currently, our volunteer run organization operates seven locations throughout the community.
Good Neighbors emphasizes the person to person approach believing that the people we help need the personal interaction of our caring volunteers rather than an impersonal hand out.
