Lee Thomas and Wilma McMasters are the Superior Good Neighbors Chairpersons. Wilma has been volunteering for more than 40 years ago and Lee has been volunteering for more than 30 years. Wilma and Lee volunteer at both the Superior and Goodyear Heights Food Center locations.
Superior Good Neighbors Volunteers
During the 2016 year, the Superior Good Neighbors provided clothing to more than 120 families (approximately 600 individuals). Many families were helped with new school uniforms, shoes and school supplies for the new school year. Volunteers gave more than 840 hours of their time to help those in need throughout their community. During August 2017, they provided school uniforms and supplies to nearly 40 families.
The Superior Good Neighbors clothing unit is located in the Centenary United Methodist Church. 1310 Superior Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44307 Open on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Visits are permitted every 30 days with a referral and identification.
